Mobile Phones for Seniors part 2

Posted on March 15th, 2010 by admin in Electronics | No Comments »

We took some time out at mature singles to take a look at the phones and how they can work for seniors.

This paired with larger buttons for easier dialing make these phones ideal for senior citizens. Now grandma doesn’t have to spend 45 minutes trying to find a phone number and another 30 trying to see and push the tiny number buttons to call out.

It is hard to imagine your grandmother walking down the street chatting on her cell phone, but in the case of seniors, these phones may come in handy, maybe even save lives if used responsibly. These mobile phones are a definite asset when a situation like car trouble arises.

So now when our relatives reach their golden years and decide to take the RV and travel across country, they can do so with peace of mind that in the event of an emergency, they have 24-hour contact with civilization.

It will also give peace of mind to their loved ones. They can travel safely knowing they are always in contact in case of an emergency.

The Battle Hardened Headset

Posted on March 11th, 2010 by admin in Electronics | No Comments »

If you’re using a modern day wireless usb headset at work, it can be difficult to believe that it had it’s origins in pre-World War 1 sound amplification experiments. But, like so many other “exotic” experiments, it found its way into the hands of everyday people like you and me, often performing the most mundane of tasks. This was not the case for the earliest headset users. Early models were used by the Navy during the first World War and, a few years later, found their way into the fledgling airline industry. This continued into World War 2 as fighter pilots on all sides relied on their headsets to maintain contact with their command centers. Because of the headset’s versatile and reliable nature, NASA became a loyal user and was able to stay in contact with astronauts during historic missions into space. From there, major corporations began using these tough little machines in their customer service centers. The boring old headset really does have a fascinating history!
