I was given one of the Knife Blocks from blockbutcher.com from my wife and I love it. I love to cook and love having a place to put my knives where I know they both look great and are taken care of. I have had a knife block before, but it was only a cheap plastic one and now that I have this one, I wonder how I could have been happy with the other one. My new one is made of beautiful, solid wood and it adds so much to our kitchen, and my wife thinks it looks great, as well!

Wine at a Glance

A delicate red wine could be overpowered by a spicy meal regardless of the color of the meat. If perhaps it doesn’t taste delicious to you, then do not pair it regardless of how often you’ve been told the rule. Try various kinds of wines with your food.

Don’t be afraid to try a light white wine along with your meat: does it hold up or does the taste get over powered? Experiment with a mild red with fish and you will know from your palate if the rule for that wine beverage could be broken.

See if you like a fairly sweet taste in your wines or perhaps a dry wine (less sweet). Discover exactly how they react with what you eat. If you do not prefer the combination or even the flavor of the wine beverage it won’t make any difference exactly what the year was or how high-priced the bottle it’s not the ideal choice or a great pair.

What forms you can buy flax seed in?

Posted on February 11th, 2010 by admin in Food and Beverages | No Comments »

Now if you want to buy flax seed you are likely wondering what choices exist regarding the different forms you can purchase it in. Well first off, the best value is achieved if you buy flax seeds in their whole form. They possess the longest shelf life and with being the least processed they are the cheapest form also. Your only decision is whether you wish to purchase the more expensive golden coloured or the cheaper reddish brown flax seeds; there isn’t apparently any significant difference in their nutritional content. Another option is to buy flax seed meal (also named ground flax seed) which is costs more, has a shorter shelf life although does offer more convenience. Finally there is flax seed oil; it possesses a long shelf life but not the same nutritional value as ground flax seed and more manufacturing is required and so is not cheap.

The Great Thing About Wine …

What can I say about wine? I can say an awful lot … well awful is not a very nice word, so let’s change that I can say a whole lot of great stuff about wine. For example did you know that red wine has been shown to reduce and / or prevent occurrence of stroke? It’s true. A major study found that drinking red wine builds up a very good chemical in the brain that kind of acts like a buffer for our brain cells. This buffer can virtually eliminate the effects of a mild stroke or reduce the damage from a major stroke to the level of a minor one. It is absolutely amazing! wine making supplies

Home Made Wine Is Great

I really enjoy making wine at home. It is an incredibly fun hobby, one that allows me to get really creative with what I am making. One thing that I particularly enjoy doing is taking old recipes and applying new twists to them. For example you could take an old lemon wine recipe and turn it into a lime wine recipe. Or you could start crossing various aspects of recipes together to come up with completely new creations. With wine making the possibilities really are endless. I think that is what makes this hobby so much fun … and it can save you a lot of money on your wine purchases as well! Wine Making Supplies
